Mother of six

Welcome to my little corner of the world. Thank you so much for being here!

I’m the mother of six and have been married to my best friend, Erik, for over 20 years. We’ve lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for most of that time and love it here! I’m a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and because of my beliefs I firmly believe that God has given us physical bodies that are meant to be loved and cared for.

My passion for fitness has grown over the years. I first discovered the joy of movement while doing retro Jane Fonda videos in my aunt Sue’s living room and later trying my hand at step aerobics in high school gym class. My college roommates and I were fiercely dedicated to Tae Bo with Billy Blanks (much to the ire of our downstairs neighbors). As a young mother, early morning runs with friends were soothing to my soul. I discovered my inner grit as I tried my hand at endurance running, qualifying for and running the Boston Marathon. Over time, and hundreds of miles later, I realized I couldn’t just run my way to good health. I needed more. I started experimenting with strength training in my living room with a couple of old dumbbells I found in the corner of the garage. Before long I was hooked. I realized that fitter didn’t necessarily mean smaller. I loved feeling strong. I knew this was the missing piece in my fitness journey and I couldn’t wait to share it with others.

I’ve come to appreciate the immense capacity of the human body (child birth, am I right?). I’m amazed at its adaptability. I love seeing it respond when we push it, care for it, respect it and honor it. Health and fitness isn’t about before and afters, muscle selfies, or unattainable bodies, It’s about being good stewards of our bodies.
